Appointments System

Consultations are by appointment and can be booked in person at reception or over the telephone during opening hours (8am - 6:30pm).

We would like to inform you that once a telephone appointment is booked, the call will come between 8am - 6:30pm (no allocated time given).

Please be aware that calls may be monitored and recorded for quality assurance and training purposes.

Limited appointments are released on the day for emergencies only and are available from 08:00am each day.

Patient Online Services is now available to use, where you can book your appointments with a GP online. Please come to Reception and register now to be able to access this facility. For more information, visit the link 'online services' under further information.

For patients who find it difficult getting to the surgery within normal surgery times; we offer extended hours on a Wednesday morning from 07:00am to 07.50am

Where possible we try to ensure that you see the GP of your choice.

We do have Practice Nurse appointments also available.

GP+ Appointments

Suffolk GP+ is for people who urgently need a doctor’s appointment or who are unable to see their GP during normal GP hours.

Appointments can be made via Reception during our usual opening hours. Please note that patients cannot refer themselves to this service.

The service is staffed by local Suffolk GPs and Nurse Practitioners in Bury St Edmunds, Haverhill, Ipswich, Felixstowe, Stowmarket, Leiston and Wickham Market and is an NHS service delivered by the Suffolk GP Federation.

You will be given a booked appointment and will be seen by a suitable local GP or nurse who will have access to your medical records (once consent is given).

Please talk to our reception staff for more details.

Cancel an Appointment

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.

If you cannot attend an appointment, for any reason, please call us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to another patient.

Late For Your Appointment

Please attend your appointment on time, if you are late you may not be seen. If you are not seen you will not be able to rearrange your appointment until the next working day-except in the event of an medical emergency that requires immediate attention.

Interpreter

If you require an interpreter to attend with you when you see your Doctor please notify the receptionist and she will arrange this for you.

Home Visits

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling Reception before 10:00am.

One of our Doctors is “on call” throughout each week day for home visits.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgent a visit is needed.

You can also be visited at home by a District Nurse if you are referred by your GP.

Text Reminder Service

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.

To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.

Please remember to update your contact details with us when you change address, telephone numbers and email address.

Video Consultations

The Reynard Surgery are now offering video consultations. Due to COVID-19 we are asking the patients to attend the surgery as little as possible and this is another tool we are now using to make this possible. To book a video consultation download the app Airmid UK to your mobile. If you already have an online booking login, use the same login details on the Airmid UK app and it will show you all the available video consultation slots with our clinicians.
